10 Commandments of Leadership
I’m still on a high from Convention this week, and as I was going through my emails, I came across this email that caught my eye. It was titled, “10 Commandments of Leadership” and as many of you know, “The 10 Commandments” is one of my favorite movies. I was intrigued to see what was in store, and boy was I glad to open this email.
Here’s what was in the email:
In my office, on the wall next to my desk hangs the 10 Commandments of Leadership. I not only see them, but read them every single day!
For all of you who are called to lead, they are a great reminder of what we should do:
I recommend that you print these out and read them every day and see what an impact they can have on you and your leadership!
To your success,
Chris Widener
This was EXACTLY what I needed to see today to really solidify what must be done in my life every single day. There are many out there who are unethical, greedy, willing to stomp you to the ground and will just not support you along your journey. It’s easy to react or take it to heart, but when you know you’re going along the right path and doing things where in the end, you can sleep at night with a clear conscience, that’s all that matters.
I plan to copy these commandments, make them visible and look to and read them every single day as is suggested by Chris Widener. I would even take it a step further and read each one aloud. To me, that gives it more life and validity.
To all my fellow leaders out there who may be misunderstood or sometimes on your own, keep pressing forward, stay the course, and the right people will learn from your example.
